Got a good idea for an Alson ad? We have a contest for that.

If you live in Cleveland, there’s a good chance you’re familiar with our Alson Jeweler’s "We have a diamond for that.™" campaign. It started in 2005, at first on bus boards alone, featuring just a few lines, like "In the doghouse? We have a diamond for that.™" It couldn’t stop there, though; that versatile closing line just begged to be repeated.

So repeat it is what we did. And, soon, people began to repeat it themselves!

It quickly became clear that "We have a diamond for that.™" was one of those advertising gems as rare and valuable as a literal diamond: a campaign with infinite longevity and a resonance that gets more and more powerful and entertaining the more it’s applied. Heck, by now, it’s basically a punch line.

Over the years, as you can see from these examples, we’ve adapted the look of the campaign to always keep it fresh, but the concept has lasted and spread. What once was just on buses is now also on billboards, mailers, print ads, radio and television, sometimes appearing alongside football star and Alson spokesperson Josh Cribbs.

We keep coming back to it, not just because it’s fun, but because it also actually works. Alson’s "We have a diamond for that.™" has evoked a huge response.

In fact, it’s almost taken on a life of its own. We can’t count how many people have approached us claiming to have the best idea ever for the next Alson ad.

Well, we’re ready to hear it.
