Rosenberg Advertising would like to introduce our latest addition to the bunch, Noelle Pangle, our resident copywriter! Noelle comes to us with a background in publishing and brings a unique perspective to our ad campaigns. Since her grade school days, Noelle has aspired to be a writer, and further realized these ambitions while working at the University Press in college. Looks like she’s right where she belongs now!

Her favorite part of the job: “Group brainstorm sessions! Any job that involves being able to use my brain for creative purposes is a job I will gladly do.”

Her Idol: “Tina Fey’s alter-ego on 30 Rock. I’m bananas for Liz Lemon!”

We are pleased to welcome Noelle to the Rosenberg Advertising staff!

The Rosenberg Advertising family is excited to welcome our summer intern Katie Kuczek to the clan. Originally from Springboro, Ohio, Katie will be entering her final year as an advertising major at Kent State University this fall.

Katie already has experience with print and broadcast advertising placement through her involvement with the campus newspaper, the Daily Kent Stater, and the university’s online radio station, Black Squirrel Radio, where she also works as a DJ. Catch her on the air next fall on www.blacksquirrelradio.com.

Now, Katie’s ready to experience advertising from an agency perspective and gain exposure to its many different aspects. She’s drawn to the industry for its creative elements, especially copywriting, but she also has an interest in exploring media, account services and research. And she wants to learn about all of it in a fun environment.

Well, she came to the right place! Katie fits right in already, hard at work with a smile on her face, and we look forward to having her with us throughout the summer.

Many companies are well aware of the benefits of B2C Twitter marketing, but are unsure how to be as successful in B2B Twitter marketing. There’s no one-size-fits-all formula, but you might want to start with these six simple tips:

1.	Add a link to your company’s Twitter account to all digital communications. Many companies aren’t sure how to get other Tweeple to follow them and learn about what’s going on with their company. It’s simple: Add your Twitter account to all your digital communications — including mass emails, your company website and your company blog. If someone is visiting your site or blog or reading your email, they’re interested in what you have to say. Make sure they get to see what you have to say on Twitter, too.

2.	Link to articles or anything else that will support what you’re tweeting — because you need to show your followers that you’re credible. If you want people to read the latest white paper on something in your industry, link to it. The more worthwhile articles and information you offer your followers, the more loyal followers you’ll have.

3.	Post links to your website, blog, e-newsletter or anything else digital on your Twitter account. This will drive visitors to all your desired consumer touch-points.

4.	Ask email subscribers for their Twitter handles (their “names” on Twitter) when they sign up to receive your emails. Your consumers will be likely to follow you once you are able to follow them on Twitter. This will also allow you to better understand your consumer base and give them what they really need.

5.	Call out links to any of your digital marketing that your Twitter followers might want to post to their Twitter pages. If you have an interesting article that your consumers may want their followers to read, include a link with instructions like “copy and paste this link to use for your Twitter account.”

6.	Conduct Twitter interviews. Your followers may be interested in anything you have to offer them, including conversations you have with partners, other customers, etc. Let your followers know you have an interview coming up — including the date and time — and encourage them to follow the dialogue.

Posted by: Rick Koehler, Vice President

It’s said that activities that take you away from your everyday life, and perhaps challenge you a bit, are good for you. And the longer you can engage in those activities, the better it is for your well-being and your attitude about life in general.

I like this quote from Oliver Wendell Holmes:
Men do not quit playing because they grow old; they grow old because they quit playing.

This certainly carries over to your job, especially in the advertising business that we’re in. In these photos from my wife’s and my annual boat trip to Leamington, Canada, the gray-haired dude in the blue life-jacket is me. And let’s just say there’s a “6” in my age. I’ve been doing this motorized water-fight mayhem for 14 years, and it’s still just as much fun today as the first time we engaged. I’ve discovered new techniques for moving gallons of water — a cut-off bleach bottle works quite well. Angles of approach, ramming speed and boarding procedures have been perfected. And new blood, and new techniques, are always welcome.

And so it is at Rosenberg Advertising. The goals of advertising — producing results for clients — haven’t changed much over the years. But the way we deliver our work, reach customers, create sales and influence decisions changes every day. New people bring new ideas, new capabilities. We’ve all seen the changes as companies evolve and adapt. And we have so many new tools to work with. Unlike perhaps most of you, I can remember the first fax machine I used — a Quip, on a drum that smoked, smelled bad and made barely legible copies. What great new technology then, and now.

That was some 34 years ago (have you figured out where that ‘6’ fits in?) and I haven’t quit playing. In many ways, this business is like our water battle. The object of the event changes little. But the tools of the game, the players, the frantic activity and the outcomes change every time.

We are stimulated by challenge, the vision to deliver the very best work we can, to face down adversity and push to win. If you’ve read our home page piece, I’m sure you’ve been there too.

No matter what your age, in whatever you choose to do, you may get swamped, but don’t quit playing.

A new car … A new account … Hmmmmm …

Isn’t it great how “new” does such wonderful, emotional things to us!

“New” doesn’t just show up. It requires work, planning, searching, and often much, much more. But when “new” gets here, it brings a special feeling. Success. Achievement. Ownership. Elation. Or, if you’re a one-year-old, just plain, simple joy!

OK, that may be a bit squishy and over-done, but who among us can deny having those feelings at some point?

At Rosenberg Advertising, like many of you, we’ve pitched accounts and won, and lost accounts we’ve pitched. Winning is better. But, win or lose, “new” is always just around the corner.

Today we welcomed Austin Rosenberg to the team. Yep, you guessed right — as Dave Rosenberg’s son, he’s always had advertising in his veins. Now we’re putting him to work.

Austin will be working on new business development as well as supporting our account executives (who oversee the day-to-day direction of accounts).

It’s always been a treat to see Austin around the office from time to time, and now we’re excited to have him here for good.

Every holiday season, Dave Rosenberg gives us the option of spending what would normally be office hours volunteering for a good cause. This year, we spent an afternoon at Transitional Housing, Inc. (THI), an organization working to end the cycle of homelessness.

THI provides safe temporary housing, as well as programs to promote self-sufficiency, for women and children who have no other place to go. The difference THI makes in its residents’ lives is profoundly apparent.

When we arrived at THI, gracious staff and residents thanked us in advance for our time with a delicious homemade lunch while they shared a little about themselves. We heard first-hand the personal stories of two residents who are now also staff members. You would not believe what these women have been through.

There’s no way to sugar-coat their harsh realities, like having eaten out of garbage cans just to survive. And having spoken with them, there’s also no denying how strong these women are, or how far they’ve come.

After some meaningful conversation, some hugs and even a few tears, they showed us the specific job we were there for: a room full of donated gifts and non-perishable goods that needed to be divided among a long list of people in need. Below are some impromptu pictures taken from Kara’s phone.

Us with some of the THI staff after divvying up and clearing out tables full of donations.

Bill and Camille with a stack of towels that they and Kara grouped and tied with ribbon.

Chelsey and Dan organizing gifts for the kids at THI

Dave (Rosenberg) and Dave (Simon) after putting gifts in the right order for distribution.

One half of what was in the room before we organized and cleared it out.

If you would like to see more photos, please visit us on Facebook

Many of these items were basic essentials we might take for granted — tissues, pillows, socks, etcetera — but everyone we met expressed sincere appreciation for every little thing they’d been given, including even those few hours of our time. The whole experience was both sobering and inspiring. If you’re looking to donate or volunteer, please consider THI.

Do you already donate or volunteer? We always love to hear about other organizations worth contributing to, either together or on our own.

Please tell us about your favorite causes in the comments section below.
